Why this exists

I built two apps
no one needed.

— The founder

The first was a YouTube note-taking app — AI-powered, timestamped references for learners. I thought it was original. I spent weeks on it. Then I went looking for competitors properly and found several already doing exactly the same thing. I just hadn't known what to search for.

So I started again. Built a holistic health tracking app. This time I did some research upfront. Checked a few Google results. Felt confident. Then went heads-down for two months.

When I finally surfaced, I found a Reddit thread listing twelve alternatives. The App Store had more. One was backed by Walmart.

The problem wasn't that I didn't do research. It was that I did it once, at the start, with the wrong keywords — then stopped entirely while the market kept moving.

The tools that should have helped

Google AlertsToo slow

Arrives 24–72 hours late — if at all. No Reddit. No Product Hunt. No community conversations. Just news articles you didn't ask for.

Manual checkingMisses 80%

You check once and feel covered. Meanwhile, a competitor launches Tuesday, hits #2 on Product Hunt, and you find out Friday from a prospect who already signed up with them.

Enterprise CI toolsNot for you

Crayon and Klue are built for sales teams with $2,000/mo budgets and dedicated competitive analysts. Not for the founder who is building, marketing, and selling alone.

Spire21 is what I wish I'd had. Not a one-time check. Not a $500/mo enterprise dashboard. A quiet, persistent radar that runs while you build.

A different kind of intelligence

Stop reacting. Start anticipating.

Every other CI tool tells you what already happened. Spire21 is built to show you what's happening now — and find threats before they find you.

Google Alerts is basically useless for this. Crayon costs $2,000/mo. There's finally something in between.

The old way

Reactive intelligence

Google Alerts, manual checks, F5Bot

You find out when a competitor launches after it already happened — from a Reddit comment, a customer mention, or an investor who saw it first.

Always behind

The Spire21 way

The Anticipation Engine

Real-time monitoring + discovery

Spire21 watches every platform continuously and automatically surfaces new competitors before they gain traction. You see it coming. You respond before your customers notice.

Always ahead

What you're not paying for

Enterprise CI

Crayon, Klue, Kompyte

Sales call required. $500–$2,000/mo. Onboarding takes weeks. Built for dedicated competitive intelligence teams — not the founder doing everything alone.

Not for you

How it works

5 minutes to set up. Zero to maintain after that.

No demo required. No onboarding call. No procurement process. Describe what you're building — Spire21 handles everything else.

01

Describe what you're building

Plain language. No code, no API keys, no demo call. Add keywords and any competitors you already know. Done in under 5 minutes.

02

We watch while you build

Spire21 scans Reddit, Hacker News, and Product Hunt around the clock — surfacing new competitor launches, mention spikes, feature requests, and "I built this" posts in your market.

03

You find out first

A daily digest every morning. Real-time Slack alerts when something urgent surfaces. AI strips the noise — you only see what actually matters. No login required to stay in the loop.

What you get

Not a one-time check. Always on.

A quiet, persistent radar. No complex dashboards. No 40-step onboarding. No demo call. Set it up in 5 minutes and forget it exists — until it matters.

Competitor Discovery Engine

Only on Spire21

Every other CI tool only tracks competitors you already know about. Spire21 monitors Product Hunt launches, Show HN posts, Reddit “I built this” threads, and YC announcements — then uses AI to classify anything entering your market by threat level. You don't just track known competitors. You find the ones you don't know about yet.

Direct competitor — same problem, same audience
Adjacent threat — related problem or different segment
Potential threat — early stage, watch closely

Real-time Slack alerts

When a competitor launches or mention spikes, a Slack ping reaches you immediately. No dashboard check required. Stay in flow, stay informed.

Multi-platform feed

Reddit, Hacker News, and Product Hunt — all in one chronological feed. Not single-source. Not 80% of the picture. Everything.

AI signal filtering

Raw platform data is noisy. Spire21 surfaces only what's actually relevant — not every tangential Reddit comment or keyword coincidence.

Continuous monitoring

Runs 24/7 from the moment you add a project. Not a one-time snapshot. A persistent radar. The market keeps moving while you code.

Daily digest email

One email each morning summarising what Spire21 found overnight. Read it with your coffee. No login, no context switching.

5-minute setup

No code. No API keys. No demo call. Describe your idea, add keywords, connect Slack if you want it. Monitoring starts immediately.

Pricing

No sales calls. No enterprise contracts.

Transparent pricing you can act on without talking to anyone.
